hi, I just started this diet last week. Although I was less than perfect about the rules I still lost 4 lbs. I am an old lady (69) and have found it harder to lose the weight that I need to lose. I have 3 dogs that I started walking every day and that helps. They bug me if I get lazy cause they love to go. I hope we can keep in touch and that you will start finding it easier to do the diet this week. Do you exercise? I am getting so flabby I was wondering about weights? Good luck.

Welcome to you both!

My e-mail address is above with my ticker. Additionally, there is an e-mail directory thread on the Forum, you can both send messages to any of us on that list and add your own e-mail address to the list if you want. Everyone signed up to be buddies/have buddies.

arlenepug lady,
Yes, many of us exercise and it is recommended as part of the dieta. I use dumbbells; I am working on my flabbyness. Have you seen Joyce Vidral's books? They are a good place to start, just don't bother with the nutritional information and stick with the RD.

crazysquaw,

I am in my 50's and have been on the RD since 4/18/06 and have lost 28 pounds. I have been struggling with my weight ALL of my life. Back in 1998, I lost 100 lbs.......swore I would never put it back on...........gained most of it back plus more......and here I am in 2006, trying to lose it again!!!!

I have never been able to change the way I look at food.......until now. The RD is the best thing I have ever learned about........and the easiest "diet" to stick to. It truly is a new way of life for me........and I LOVE IT !!!

Here is my e-mail address........e-mail me anytime and I will try to help in any way that I can.

kdmhewitt@hotmail.com

(Please put "Rice Diet" somewhere on your subject line so I won't delete your e-mail........thanks!)

I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can.

Happy ricin',
bludaffodil (aka Kathy)

PS I am from NC.

here I am again, still struggeling. I forgot to put my address. It is apm0114@yahoo.com. I am finding it to be true that it is the suger and salt that lead to craving (it says this in the rice program book) and if I hold off a while most of the time it goes away, or I am satisfied by something more appropriate. I always knew I was addicted to food, but I never recognized that I was addicted to salt. Suger yes. but I think for me the salt craving is worst. This gives me a whole new way to look at my weight program. I have always tried to get the same taste when dieting. instead of retraining my pallet. Needless to say, my whole life I have eighter been "on a diet" and losing weight or "off" and gaining. I am not very good with computers so I don't know how to put those cute graphs, pictures, etc. I started ar 191, lost 4 and my goal is 150. I may have lost some since but I weigh myself at work and don't work again until next week.

Hi, I too would love a buddy. I am in my 50's and live in Oregon. I have been heavy most of my life and lost 110 lbs three yrs. ago. I have regained half of it and now am working to loose the gained protion plus more. I love food and thought too that I only had a sugar addition..but now I find a salt one also. I never thought I could live without salt....and I"m on my 3rd week.
I would love to hear from any of you and my email is currmom2003@yahoo.com. Please put Rice Diet on the subject line so I will open it. Thanks. Shar
