Hello everyone... tomorrow 6/19 is my first day!! I have about 50-55lbs to lose. My husband has been deployed overseas since July 2005 and I have literally eaten my stress and loneliness over the last 11 months. I want to make myself healthy (for me AND for when my husband gets home next year). I would LOVE to read responses of people who have made this eating plan a lifestyle with real weight loss results... I look forward to hearing from you veterans! Feel free to email me as well at-- toetags@aol.com

Here's to life!!

I found littlebitsilly's story inspiring. So I copied the thread she started for you to read. If you look through the Forum, there are successes being shared all the time, along with the hopes, fears and near misses. No one can tell you how fast your success story will take, but if you stick with it, it will come.

Hey everybody here is my results for 12 1/2 weeks of ricing.
Day 3: 5pounds
Day4:10 pounds
Day5: 11pounds
Day 6-8 no loss
Day 13: 15 pounds
day 14-18: no loss
week 3 ending: 18 pounds
week 4: 22 pounds
week 6:23 pounds
week7: no loss
week 8: 27 pounds
week 9: 30 pounds
week 10: no loss
week11: no loss
week 12 32 pounds
week 13: begining of week 34 pounds.
As you can see I had several plateaus and the first two weeks was my biggest weight loss. I hope all you newbies can see that it does come off maybe not one week but it will the next. Keep on ricing and hope this helps some of you when you get discouraged. Littlebit sooner than later.!!!

Hi Littlebit,

I was wondering if you woudn't mind sharing your exercise program??? What does your basic week entail? I am assuming with such great results you are sticking to this dieta strictly with no cheats. Would that include not adding any oils to your foods, etc??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mireille

mbseirani, I can't say I never cheated but when I did it was a very healthy choice except two times. I have a weakness for seasamee chicken and I ate it twice since on the RD. Once at 5 weeks up till then didn't cheat. Again at 9 weeks and I only did the one meal off. Each time I did it it made me feel terrible and remnded me of my stomach issues I lived with before the RD. I said after the first time I wouldn't do it again, but I did. Now I am saying that I want do it again because why eat something that only taste good for the moment its in your mouth and as soon as it's in your stomach you feel terrible. I have learned alot about eating healthy and strive to only cheat with good for me choices. My exercise started out in the beginging with 10 minuets of Crunch dance tape and built up to the whole tape which is 45 min. Took just one week to add 5 min. next week 10 and so on. I did that atleast 3 days a week. I do resistance ex. 2 to 3 days a week for 25 minuets and my stomach ex. I do almost every day. Inches melt with the resistance ex. Each time I added more ex. to my weeks in when you see me not lose weight. That is because muscle weighs more than weight so if you add more muscle than you lose fat that week you want see the scales move but then in the long run , muscle burns more calories. So don't give up when you plateau and I walk 3 to 5 miles at least 5 days a week now. Five weeks ago I could barely walk one but that was in addition to by other ex. NOw I love to walk and this may sound funny but my body has been tempting me to run on my walks lately. So I'm speed walking for now and the trails I walk are hilly since I live in the MTNs. not just flat walking for me. Good luck and hang in there.

Hi Raina, the 19th is my first day, as well! I'm so determined about being a Ricer. I've been reading tons of material on it and today I finally received The Rice Diet Report. It's a report written in the 80's by a woman who was on the program and it's supposed to be extremely inspirational, while it details everything she went through during the program and when she went home. The author's name is Judy Moscovitz.

I wish you nothing but success, patience, and faith. Hang in there, friend.

In addition to the wonderful folks who tell their stories in the forum, there is a whole page here of inspirational stories at http://www.ricedietp..._test_over.html

additionally there is a blog from susan whose article ran in First and/or Woman's Day Magazine
http://confessionsof...n.blogspot.com/

also natalie, who writes on the forum, also has a blog. She has a lot of good info and you can even read her journal. She has put a lot of work into her website and has a lot of good info about the Rice Diet.

Hope these ideas help
