Here's what I do.....I break up my meals... I will have a salad mid day to take care of that yearning... I then have less veggies throughout the day... .or I do it with one or two fruits. I have to say though.. I do have a little sneak of peanut butter .. just a bit every 3 - 4 days... heehee!! Keeps me sane and I'm still losing.

hmmmm, the sugar is a definite no no. Could you use honey, splenda or stevia? Also check the creamora....does it have sodium or sweetener in it? You could actually use some skim milk from your breakfast in your coffee. I drink my coffee black, so I'm not sure about the taste of that stuff in it.
Also, make sure you are eating those foods that are more filling to avoid hunger. For example you can have a slice of whole wheat toast and 1 tsp of fruit spread OR oatmeal and a cup of strawberries. With the toast I get hungry. With the oatmeal and berries, I stay full. I also find I get hungry on pasta. Rice works better for keeping me full. Journaling helps you identify those foods that work best for you.
Good luck and keep it up.

I love peanut butter...Im not a fan of black coffee or any type of sugar sub. no matter what anyone tells me fake sugar is a false sence of safe...i would rather have a little of the real stuff then fill my body full of fake stuff. Braking up my meals so they last through the day is a good idea...Ill give it a try

Mariana,
On page 65 of the RDS book, it says we can have EITHER 2 packets of sugar, Sweet'N Low, Equal, Splenda, 1 tsp. of honey OR 1 tsp. maple syrup at EVERY meal.
The book actually says 1 oz. of honey or maple syrup.....
BUT Jayne said that was a MISPRINT and that it should have said 1 tsp for either one.
They do highly recommend that we not use any of the artificial sweeteners BUT if we just "have to have" them then these are our choices.
Not sure about the Creamora........just check the label and see how much sodium etc. is in the amount you want to use. If it falls within what we can have in a day...........I say go for it. (Just my opinion, though!)
Welcome to the RD by the way!!!

My weight goal is 110. Its a reachable goal and I will get there sooner or later....as for walking...that will take time too. I always look up!

Welcome Mariana,
I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you get better soon.
By the way, did you know that doing weight bearing exercises, with dumbbells for example, using your arms will help the muscles in your legs?
I understand the height thing. I started at 140, but I'm less than 4'10," so I was and still am obese by all the charts.
Also, I'm not pushing it or anything but just FYI, the Stevia mentioned above isn't a fake or tampered with version of sugar. It is made from a naturally sweet herb, called stevia.

Hi Mariana,
Good luck - I just started this adventure myself! FYI; I had tried Stevia in the past because I wanted to stay away from the artificial stuff. I found it HORRIBLE!!! *BUT* then I tried it again yesterday and today - my problem was I bought it in packets and thought 1 packet stevia = 1 packet sweetnlow/equal. This time I used just about 1/3 of the packet in my tea and another 1/3 on some berries. That was the trick! Much less made it delicious! Im glad I found a palatable alternative to sugar, that is natural too! Another note - for your caffeine. Im right there with you! Im having a hard time coming to terms with giving it up, but what I did yesterday and today was to make some herbal tea with a touch of regular black tea. It really helped solve the headache I felt coming on! Also, in the past I have tried some soy milk as a creamer for my coffee and found that was ok. The vanilla flavor kind of put me in mind of a light version of those flavored creamers...
Hope this is useful..
And by the way... CONGRATULATIONS on your "second first steps" - I bet that was a wonderful feeling. My cousin's son (only 17) is struggling to rehab from a motocross accident... I think I have problems until I hear the challenges he faces.
Keep on!! Best wishes.
