Well, I finished my first marathon on October 3, and will be doing my second on one November 8! Thanks for the RD for helping me lose weight and gain some confidence to tackle the mileage! Finishing the first marathon was one of the hardest things I've ever done, so it put a lot of things in perspective. I'm hoping the Outer Banks Marathon coming up will be easier for me.

Congratulations Lesley - I've watched and supported my son when he runs a marathon and it always astounds me that it can be done. I always wonder where the runners get their inner strength from to keep on going. One of the runners told me that the support they get from the cheering sidelines helps to give them the motivation they need to continue at times. Good luck November 8th and know in your heart that the members of the Forum are backing you 100%. Bonnie

How exciting -- a marathon!!! You are AWESOME!!! We'll be cheering here for ya for sure!!

My son runs track and I just don't understand how he just keeps going when he is obviously tired. It's so amazing to think about and to see actually happen in person.

Hi Lesley!

I have followed your running blog a bit and I am so proud of you and you definitely inspire me. The best I can do is jog on my trampoline and that exhausts me quickly!!!! :)

Keep up the good work and let us know how the next marathon goes.

I was fortunate to meet Lesley in Durham. She is one of the most impressive folks I've met in a long time. And now she does marathons. WOW. Congratulations. Keep up the good work.
