OK, I have come to my senses once again and realized I will never get to my goal weight without the ever dreaded word EXERCISE!!!
So I am back on the mini-trampoline with my 5 pound weights in each hand and I am jogging on it during the commercials of THE BIGGEST LOSER. I so love that inspiring show!!!
I also made it to the gym 2 days in a row for an hour workout each day on the life-cycle. I felt good about myself to get back to the exercise. I know the change of diet alone isn't going to bring the changes I need so here I go again!

That's so awesome! You know I *still* haven't started exercising. Shame on Kelly! I also know that I will never reach my goal weight if I don't start moving my body. I make so many excuses *smiles*
I had wanted to lost 50 pounds by December 18th, but that's not going to happen cause I haven't been moving my body! I knew it was an aggressive goal that I set for myself, but it is better to set the bar high than too low. Well, I shouldn't say it is not going to happen cause I have exactly a month to lose 25 pounds. I *could* realize my goal if I am super strict with my food intake AND I exercise.
Ok, that's it, you talked me into it!!!
I haven't purchased a mini trampoline yet so I think I will walk in place during my soap opera. Better to move my body a little bit than not at all.
I'll write back later today to let you know if I did it or not *smiles*

Kelly,
An excellent choice to do something besides sit there while you are watching TV!!! Anything will do. Sometimes I pick up my weights and do curls etc. while watching. Also those resistance bands are good for watching TV and getting some exercise. (nice and quiet)
You can do lunges with the weights while watching TV. That would be a GREAT work-out. Walking in place will work also but gets mighty boring!
However, any exercise is boring to me!!
I just have to figure out how to make it more exciting. If you stumble across some great revelation how to make it more exciting let me know. I have a Wii on my Christmas list. Everyone says that is fun and great exercise. Biggest Loser even has a wii game out that is supposed to be a good work-out. Question is will it really be fun to me?

Oh yes, the Wii exercise games are FUN!!! I love the Wii Active better than the Wii Fit. It kicks my butt too. I really need to use my Wii. I did walk in place during most of my soap (about 30 minutes). Well, I walked in place and stepped back and forth & then on commercials I walked really fast all around my apartment in circles. Haha -- I'm a lunatic. Walking in the house is a lot more work than walking outside

Yay you moved that body!
Thanks for the WII Active tip! - had heard that was the best of the two. Now I know for sure I want a WII!!!
Tonight I shopped all over Macy's (the only exercise I did) lol. Big sales! Tomorrow I am off work and hubs and I will be very active working on our kitchen remodel project. Hopefully I will be able to get some sort of cardio in.

Yeah, I was thinking, "Hmmm, why would I claim that the Wii Active is fun and then I don't use it?!" Oh, I know why -- there are fun parts but it actually makes me sweat. I feel GREAT *after* I exercise, but it is the getting started part that I don't love. I guess it is just my sedentary habits winning out.
I guess like, seriously, why would I *know* that I feel like a million bucks AFTER a workout but I wont start?
If I push myself to start exercising finishing is never a problem.
Argh!!
I do have to be careful since I don't have medical insurance. Have to make sure my asthma doesn't get too out of control cause I only have enough medicine to last three more weeks. I was hoping to lose enough weight before my meds run out that my asthma would do better, but it seems to be getting worse lately (no idea why). We were so looking forward to open enrollment, but my husband's school district decided not to have open enrollment AGAIN this year even though they finally signed a contract. They haven't had an open enrollment in four years & when we turned in the paperwork after I lost my job last November (change in family circumstances) they were changing offices......long story short, our paperwork got lost & they will not work with us. So, nobody has had health insurance in this house for over a year now & since we had spotty bursts of insurance before this I don't have a doctor willing to write me a year long prescription for my asthma medicines. Second long story short -- it is too expensive to go to the doctor to get a prescription AND fill my $210 medicine (that's just one of them of course, but that is the one that like has really changed my life) so I may have to wing it with crappy substitutes like primatene mist. I've been asthmatic since I was less than a year old & primatene mist just doesn't really help - I always end up in the hospital. It's so frustrating that I cannot get like a standing prescription for a medicine that I have taken for over 34 years & it would be really nice to have one for the one that I have taken for 6 years....I will need these medicines until the day I die so I shouldn't have to fret over paying a doctor for a prescription *sighs*
Sorry, rant over.

Awww Kelly,
Sorry to hear about your asthmatic situation. My younger sister fights that also and has to watch it when she goes to the gym. If I were you I would just try the exercise mantra of the Rice House. According to Restingtree it is walking. And walking and walking.
It is hard these days, the healthcare issue at hand may fix your problem but don't count on it! It would be nice if it works for you though.
You could walk in place on the mini tramp (if and when you get one) and because of the resistance it is supposed to bump up the effort of walking quite a bit. Meaning it is supposed to do more for you than just walking on a flat surface like the pavement. I remember reading that somewhere.
We need to keep up our momentum and not slack like I have been doing the last couple of days. I can use any excuse in the world and before you know it I am back to my sedentery self. Stay out of the hospital though you hear girl???!!!

Thanks Rhonda!!! I actually got the very best news EVER today!! The school district my husband works for decided to go ahead and have an open enrollment for 2010 because so many teachers asked/complained. So we are going to get our paperwork in (and if they lose it again, I am going to be all up in their business -- this time I am going to cross all my t's and dot all my i's for tracking purposes) & our whole family will be covered starting January 1, 2010.
SO that means I will be able to exercise cause I won't have to worry about stretching out my medicine!!!!! YAY!!!
I never thought I would see the day that I would be happy to find out that I can actually exercise.

I am still walking, bouncing and jogging on my mini-trampoline. I figure it is much better than lounging around all evening on the couch watching TV!
Keep up the good work and know that I am suffering through it with you!
