I walked 4 miles today. I really need to add some weight bearing exercises to my routine. Is that how you spell bearing? I never remember. Well you know what I mean.

Try small weights but high reps, should help. 4 miles is great!

Hi Liz,

I have been watching your steady walking routines. Good Work! I bought some weights just for that purpose. They are called heavyhands and they are easy to carry while you are walking because they fit sort of like a glove or something like that. They are very comfortable and you hardly notice them being on your hands. Google them and see what you think. Also, I have read where Target has the weighted vests that people wear to increase the intensity of walking. That might help also.

I have recently acquired the DVD Walking for Weight Loss by Debbie Rocker. Wow! Does it EVER make me sweat! Currently I am just doing the first 30 minutes of her hour long work-out and I do it on my rebounder to save the feet and knee joints which give me issues from time to time. There are times however I have to jump off the rebounder and do the lunges, squats, etc. on the floor. There is also a CD for walking outdoors that comes with it. I haven't used it yet because it has been too hot to walk here in Missouri.

Keep up the walking, you are doing great!

Ankle weights maybe? My roommate wears them while he's working so he doesn't have to workout. hah.

Rhonda, did you finish the 30 day shred?

Mak,

Got through Phase 2 successfully. I went on vacation and then when I got back from vacation I just couldn't make myself continue on, but I will get there one of these days. Next Wednesday Jillian"s SHREDDING WITH WEIGHTS DVD comes out in the stores. I CANT WAIT to buy it! I thought I would start that one instead of going back to the 30 DAY SHRED. I will do the 30 DAY SHRED again someday though. It definitely kicks my butt!

I recently found THE BIGGEST LOSER WORKOUT at TJ MAXX for 5.99 because it is an old one. OMG, it is not even a challenge after doing the 30 day shred so I basically have ditched it. But I love Debbie Rocker's Walking for Weight-loss. It is not just walking, but lunges, squats, etc. It is a good work-out for changing things up a bit, so I am doing that along with the BIKE (one hours)at the gym. I know they sound like wimpy work-outs after the SHRED though. But I am doing 1 and a half hours of exercise right now. I plan to up that to 2 hours as soon as I can make myself get up 30 minutes earlier! haha

Thanks for checking on me Ms Makky! Take care!
