I first did this diet in 2006 so I have read and re read it a lot. I posted an update on the other topics forum about why I am back on here.
But thanks. I believe in reading the book. Time and again. Keeps me on track.

No, I had to change since I could not remember my old user name. Gee, it is hard getting old.

May I ask what happened that the weight came back? Did you just go back to your old eating habits totally?

Well, I didn't gain all the weight back, but enough to make me feel uncomfortable. I did not go back to old eating habits (which were actually pretty good) at all. Here's what I think happened. Let's say I had cake and ice cream at a birthday party. No gain, or not much, and I go right back to eating on plan. But since I didn't gain, I tell myself that it's ok to indulge again. Well, do that too many times over the course of a year or so, and the weight will creep back on. I tell people that losing weight is the easy part, it's keeping it off that is challenging. My brain tells me all sorts of lies about food (just one won't hurt...everyone else is eating this, and I deserve it too, and so on), and if I'm not constantly vigilant, before I know it, 5 or 10 pounds is back. What fooled me is that my clothes still fit for the longest time, so I figured I wasn't hurting anything. Then, BAM! it's like it all hit me at once! The belly fat and muffin top were back!
I believe that we can still have a treat sometimes while we are maintaining, but if it becomes a too frequent thing, we'll be right back where we started.
Hope I've answered your questions.

Sounds like we have something in common...a serious sweet tooth!
I've only been on the diet for 2 weeks. I don't have anything in the house sweet except no fat ice cream. Vanilla at that!
When I get something from subway those chocolate chip cookies are saying "where have you been, I miss you"..lol
Well I haven't had them since before the diet. I agree moderation is the key to success.
Thanks again
Sabrina
