Yee-Haw! I usually only had such wonderful results on the cleansing day (today was my protein day), but obviously by body was in need of this. I've been running and lifting weights for a few years now, just now keeping track of what I eat. Here's hoping that was my only missing link, and the results keep coming.
Start: 181
Today: 178.6
Total Loss: 2.4

Today is cleansing day, the hardest, but most rewarding one, I think.

I posted our dinners for the week on my blog, but not my lunches and breakfasts because I keep those very simple, so they'd bore my general readers. Plus, dinner has to feed five, so it's my way of making this work for all of us.

Great results! Gotta love how this program gives you the loss you need at the beginning to keep you motivated. I checked out your dinner menu and it sounds yummy. Are you doing a green salad with those meals? That would make it perfect for me!

I'm adding greens in many ways, Leeny! Tonight, I bulked up the pasta sauce by adding a bag of spinach. The other nights, with broccoli & cauliflower, I won't, but the wheat berry chili I probably will--since I used to serve it with whole wheat rolls, and will again in the future, but I'm trying for results right now. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings...but I'm on here again so that I don't cheat on day 2!

Detox Day didn't disappoint! Whew. How's that for alliteration? In a hurry this morning, as I want to run before I take the kids to the A.A. Milne activities at the library.

I think I might actually meet my goal of five pounds this week! It's only Wednesday, and I've only got 0.6 to go.

Now if I could just get my right leg to quit cramping up. Since there are so many of you here, perhaps I'll ask you--the doctors have no clue, yet. See, it starts in the inner thigh (by the socket), and radiates both into the pelvis and down to the knee-top (but not IN the knee). One doctor thought it was appendicitis, but the ultrasound showed otherwise. Another thought a pelvic infection, so gave me antibiotics, but it came back, another thought painful ovulation, and put me on low-dose birth control. Needless to say, I'm still toughing it out, but it seems to be getting worse. My next guess is a nasty case of tendinitis in the hip socket, but I'm really not in the mood to go to another doctor, nor do I know what kind of doctor to go to this time. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have an odd ailment like I did last fall. Mine was called the Iliolumbar syndrome, also known as iliac crest pain syndrome, which involves an inflammation or tear of the iliolumbar ligament. This ligament extends from the spine to the iliac crest, which is the back of the pelvis. It can lead to referred pain in the groin, the pelvis, the hip, the back and even the testicular, vaginal and rectal areas. I thought I had kidney stones one day, female issues the next, then back pain, then leg pain -- apparently the ligament goes to all of those areas and there is little you can do but rest it (I had 3 weeks in a wheelchair, a lot of naps, some ********, and it was fine). I saw my family doctor for mine, and all he did was touch the highest point of my pelvic bone and I about jumped off the table! He knew from my strange variety of pain that it was this thing I'd never even heard of! This was all a result of tendonitis in my right elbow, which I apparently tried to avoid sleeping on by stretching strangely.

I'm sure you've tried all the "normal" cures like eating more potassium, stretching before bed, etc....have you tried a chiropractor? My mom has a similar type of cramp and swears her chiropractor gets her back in alignment and it stops for a while. That or maybe a sports med doc could help? They have some deep tissue massage techniques that might do the trick.

Good luck, I do understand the frustration, and do not envy you the pain. AND congrats on doing so well with the weight loss!

I would say that....tendonitis or Bursitis of the hip. Nice job on the weight loss by the way!

I'm thinking alignment, but maybe that's just because it's what I had/have. I have a chiropractor do an adjustment, and that will usually take care of it. Then I have to keep doing some exercises regularly to maintain. Anyway, if it's that, it's an easy fix.

Not as much loss today, but given it was my day off exercise, it's not surprising. Wednesdays are the day I take my kids to their science co-op and we stay for hours. It's one of our favorite things to do. The woman who hosts our co-op has a HUGE and wonderful playground in her yard, and the kids learn so much during the class time. I find it satisfying to see all of the mothers working together to bring these kids amazing science lessons and field trips. The other days of the week we do history, math, and language arts at home. Art lessons I've farmed out as well, mainly because the woman I found to teach them has so many wonderful ideas and is willing to give them much more guided instruction than I could (I'm not artsy--crafty, yes--artsy, no).

Wow, has it really been a full year since I've checked in?!? Hmmmm.

First, just an update to all those who were so helpful about the inner hip pain--it turns out that I have Mittelschmerz. So, that was why it was sporadic. Unfortunately, regular treatments make me nauseous, so I think I'll just deal with the pains.

Second, I get to start my weight loss journey AGAIN. But due to happy circumstances, as I just gave birth to baby #4. He's adorable, and I've spent most of my holiday snuggling him and munching on all the wonderful foods that friends and neighbors brought over to me. However, it is time to get back into regular clothes. It'll take time, and he's only 6 weeks old, so I need to be patient, since I'll have very little time to devote to exercise at first. The ticker isn't updated yet, and if I have time to get back on here soon, I'll do that. Plus, we're in the process of buying a new house, in a different (COLDER!) state, and I'm not in warm North Carolina anymore.

Eh, time to go already, baby needs me. :)
