Okay, so I have been eating oatmeal all day on starch and fruit days because I don't like fruit with rice to much. PLEASE can you all give me some ideas? Thank you so much!

I have been having short grain brown rice with my fruit. It has a nice crunchy pop and has been enjoyable with my bowls of fruit. I have had wonderful fresh pineapple, frozen blackberries, apples, red grapes, and grapefruit. My mind feels so clear and my body fit and energetic. Keep trying different kinds of rice until you are satisfied.

Quinoa is fine. I prefer it too; I like the extra protein. But any grain or starchy vegetable will do. You can also use lentils and beans as your starch. I often do a rice and beans combo at mealtime and then save my fruit for a couple hours later. What I love about the RD is that it's ok to play with your food here!

I like to make my own oat & fruit toasted cereal! The sodium is low and the taste is GREAT! I use rice milk over it as well.
You could use other grains in it if you wanted. Just make sure you measure and log each ingredient in the proportions you will need to make each serving '1 starch' and '1 fruit'.
I also use this as a snack (I save one or two carb servings to eat later in the day).
