I am stuck !
I am making some toasted grain breakfast bars with fruit in them to have on the days that I cannot fix breakfast or when I want a snack. But, I am looking for a binder to keep the ingredients together so that when I put them in the oven they harden a bit and I can cut them into squares. Any suggestions? Here are a list of the ingredients:
Whole Oats
Quinoa
Mixed Dried Fruits
Flax Seed
Puffed Rice
Raw Honey
Would appreciate anyones input... I really want to stay on plan with the ingredients.
Thanks !!
Zer~

do a search for Lynnie's Oat Bars on this forum. Back in the day, a lot of used her recipe. I believe she cooked her oats first though.
Could you add eggbeaters, put them in a shallow pan, bake them and then slice?

Medjool dates - if you can only find the chopped, box kind put them into a colander and rinse the sugar off. You can put them into a food processor or mash them with a fork. This will make a sort of homemade "lara" bar. I do it all the time, and they're wonderful.
Also, you can use fresh dates or Stevia or Splenda in a cup of pure pumpkin. Add pumpkin pie spice and microwave 1 minute. Voila! No fuss pumpkin 'pie' that won't kill your dieta.
