This morning I was happy with a 8 oz drop.
Yesterday I pretty much amazed myself with getting on my healthrider like I said I was going to, and then doing 505 extensions,, I guess that is what you call them. For me.. the most I think I have done at one session was 250. I can feel the muscles this morning in my arms just a little and my calfs are a bit sore, but nothing anywhere what I would call painful.
I had to be very careful about getting my foot positioned just right on the pedal, as if it was mis aligned my left knee didn't feel very good.

Today I will do some walking I think.

Yesterday for dinner I made zucchini and red onion stir fry and had a large serving over a thick slice of homemade bread.

I was planning on being completely rice and fruit today... like I was supposed to yesterday, :P but I'm out of fruit! Except for prunes.

Ah well.

And the leftover zucchini and onions are really calling me.
So far today just rice and prunes.

Well the last couple of days have been hectic for us, but it could be worse, so I am not complaining much.

My weight is the same. And it's making me unhappy. The day before yesterday I got on the healthrider again and did 520! and kept to 1100 calories and no change. I did stress my knee on that go round and ended up taking my Nabumetone, which I hate! but it seems to help a lot.
Yesterday I rested my knee,

Food yesterday:
1 cup of brown jasmine rice
5 small prunes
1/2 banana

Lunch:
Rice 1 cup and no sodium chicken broth soup with green beans and onions
this was about 2 cups of soup over all.
1 apple
20 no salted peanuts in the shell type.

Snack:
1/2 slice of whole wheat bread I made, toasted with nothing on it.

Dinner:
Cucumber salad that had 2 tablespoons of mayo, but it was mixed in with the whole salad and I probably ate less then 2 teaspoons of mayo with it, if that.

Green beans
Zukes and onions with curry and balsamic vin.
1 cup rice

Lots of water all day over 40 oz, plus coffee and some tea.

And my Husband is not going to take his next week of vacation that was coming up next week as his job is swamped and they need him. So he is going to reschedule for a week in October.

BOOOO!!!

It's 12:15 here and my stomach is growling. I want a cucumber sandwich for lunch.
Or a roasted Ox! :P with with Mashed potatoes!

no, we have no beef in the house. I have a can of tuna, but I hate tuna.

I guess it's the cucumber sammie for sure.

ha.

I know what you mean, when it seems that I am SO SO hungry that I could eat an entire horse....but then I actually start eating....and I end up full far before the horse is actually gone, which is a small personal victory, to actually stop, and not keep cramming it in there like I may never eat again!

Ugh, I am up 1.2 pounds,.., Can you have hormonal shifts after menopause? I know..
Well Most of my problem is in little extra things that keep slipping in. My husband brought home some PESTO!!! I love and adore pesto, but this is highly salted and had Parmesan chesse in it.. and olive oil and pine nuts.. and you get the idea. Even a little is toooo much for me not only as a water retainer but that strong flavors really do seem to spark cravings for me. So it's been pesto over rice and pasta and spread on bread, umm maybe it wasn't such a good idea foe me to get a bread maker.

This has been very hard for me to get back to blander food. I seem to have this internal resistance that I'm fighting with. I really really want to make it to my initial goal of 200 pounds and actually a little less than that. But I just seem to be stuck!

The Health rider has not been good for me knee, If I don't push with my legs it's better but for strength and using calories the large muscles need to be used.. so I am going to do more walking and use the rider less, or for arms and cardio.. and believe me it's pretty good for cardio work. :o

Anyway I have been busy.. I did get out and helped the husband in the garden over the weekend. We pulled weeds and got a few more beds turned,, That is another thing that bothers my knee/s, the back yard is very uneven and it's difficult to navigate without stressing my knee. So I work outside and then spend 2 days in more discomfort, then when I'm feeling better I do something else that repeats the cycle.

Ok.. enough whining from me....
I think I said this,, Husband was going to get this week off of work and they had a bad spot and was needed so no Vacation.. Though we weren't doing anything spectacular anyway, but that kind of bummed me out.

O need to get the kid up, and going but I'll be back to read new posts on the board.

It is surprising how a little cheat can change our mindset. I know it does for me. I like the new commercial for some cereal or cereal bar that says one good decision leads to another -- I think that is true!

^^^^^^^
Yes!!!

I'm not going to put a lot of undue blame on my husband.. but in a way he is making it difficult for me to get back into the swing of things. He has told me that I have lost enough weight now and he likes me just the way I am. I say "but I am still overweight!"
He thinks he should be the only arbitrator in whether I am OK. He has also asked me.. Who else are you trying to impress?
No one. I've told him this is beyond looking a certain way, this is not about vanity (although I can be quite vain at times)I'm 55 for goodness sakes, whatever aspirations I had of being a svelte fashion plate, passed me by a long time ago baby!

This is about having a quality of life that is acceptable to ME.

When I first started this dieta, I was quite militant,.. he got tired of me being hardcore I think.. and while we *didn't* go back to eating willie nilly by any means... food choices have been relaxed in the last year. I was baking and cooking more like I did when he first decided to "make me his". LOL. at that. truly, there are many reasons other than my cooking that made him enamored of me I know that. But when asked he always related that the night I fixed him Chucker pheasant .. 2 old stringy pheasants, and made them taste good.. he was coming back for more.

Ultimately I know this is my choice. He doesn't control me, and I just have to be a little better at not allowing him to dissuade me. But it's hard.. because he's tricky.. Imma telling ya,,

So far today!!!

2/3 cup oatymeal with 6 small prunes and 1/2 banana
lunch:
2/3 cup of beans,.. :P with an apple and I still have 1 fruit left there.

For dinner:
I am planning on 2 Zeekie bread toasts with 1 TSP of cherry preserves and an apple.

My weight is exactly the same as yesterday.
Ha! :P

So, for dinner I had 2 and 1/2 slices of Zeekie toast with one table spoon of cherry preserves. Not bad either,

I was going to eat a piece of fruit but I forgot.

Today I'm going for the 2 starch and fruit thing again and add a plain salad with cucumbers with lunch and dinner,.

I made a pot of beans yesterday morning and had them for lunch.. Some beans,.. are ok.

These weren't so great. Very pretty before I cooked them though., :) They were white and red spotted.. and reminded me of little Red Herford cows .. But they cooked up a little mealy and coarse.
I added some garlic and red onions, and a sprinkle of no salt chicken seasoning.. they were ok. So far the only legume I have no problem eating are chickpeas.

Annnndd I have a lot of sewing to do today!

Glad the beans were pretty ;) I tend to stick to green beans in the summer, since that is really the only time they are tasty!

I am really quite bad a math and I usually have my husband help with this, *snort*

ok I was 258.00 I am today 257.6 so.. how many ozs is that? If there is 16 oz in a pound then I've lost waht? 4 oz? Oh and I cant spell either.

Oy vey.

Kat, I do prefer green beans..

Been right on plan,

Breakfast:
Oatmeal 1/2 banana 1 apple a splash of soy milk.

Lunch:
1 cup rice and 1 apple
I'm reserving my prunes for a snack later on.

For dinner..
either some  "cow beans" with some cucumber slices and green beans OR
a cucumber sammich on some zeekie bread with a touch of mayo and mustard.

the sandwich will probably win.

ARGH... my neighbor brought over 4 bagels and a small loaf of CHEESE bread. I shoved them so fast in the freezer. Husband can take the bagels to work and I'll make a soup for he and the kid to eat the cheese bread with.

I really am very tired today. I feel like my energy is flagging yesterday and today. blah.

Hey, has anyone ever had this experience. I had noticed that when I use lemon juice on rice or beans or whatever, I get a feeling like my face is swelling.. Have I asked this before?
This is with any lemon juice product, either bottled or fresh.. my face immediately feels fuller and sometimes even my fingers will feel like they are getting puffy even though in looking at my face I don't see puffyness or see any in my hands. I have the same thing that has been happening with the balsamic vinegar I recently bought. My lips will tingle and almost feel quivery, like buzzy. Odd huh?

I have reacted to lemon juice for awhile, and have come to the conclusion I might have a citrus sensitivity or allergy.. Eating oranges, or grapefruit has no affect on me the way lemon juice does.. but using a cleaning product/solvent called Citrasol, makes me ill. Diluted it's not to bad but breathing the pure fumes in mixing it up out of the bottle, makes me nauseous, dizzy... I get a headache and generally feel like GACK! I also use it as an art medium/ supply and brush cleaner... But I don't understand why I can eat oranges (I never drink orange juice though) with no problem, just lemon juice.

I don't seem to have any other sensitivities, other than not liking certain foods...

Just wondering if anyone else has had that.

Anyway I need to go and fold some laundry. :P

Be careful with the lemon juice, allergies can get worse and you don't want to suddenly have a worse reaction! That happened to me once with some medicine I was on, and had I not had benedryl nearby, not sure what would have happened as my throat was closing up and I was faint, and upstairs with no phone!

Cattrix, that was a smart move to put the stuff that would tempt you in the freezer. That was quick thinking. How nice that your husband thinks you look great now and so the motivation for doing this is all about how you feel and when you feel your body will look and feel its best. This is such a blessing. Thanks for your posts it is so encouraging to see your progress.

Down 4 more oz, but in an utter funk today.

Yesterday
oatmeal prunes and apple
cucumber sandwich with a little mayo and mustard 1 apple
dinner was curried rice and I had 3 oz of beef. with green beans

so far today

oatmeal with prunes and 1/2 banana
coffee with non dairy creamer and some splenda sweetend coco.

water.

We might be getting a Wii system. Maybe that would help with my activity level.
I have been sewing the last couple days, I have a quilt that I'm donating a couple or three blocks to for someone that is ill and I've been drawn back into some crafting with fabric..

Hugs! And have a good Saturday
Cat

OOO.HH and yes I am going to stay away (or try ) from the lemon juice, but everything tastes so bland to me right now. I am really in a food funk and nothing tastses or looks or smells good. nothing.

OH!! and I have to give some props to my Dh! He had a work related party dinner thing he went to last evening and he seems to always drag home something food wise that he thinks I would like.. which is his way of showing affection, I get his mindset. His family does that.. last night he brought me home NOTHING!!!! I was thrilled! He is getting it. I was really happy that I wasn't going to have this temptation moment and feel bad either for rejecting the offered nummy or gving in and eating the offered nummy.. hehehe

yey!

The difference between 258 and 257.6 is .4 or 4/10 or 40% right? So you figure 40% of 16 oz. (or .4 x 16) is 6.4 oz. TA DA! So any time you want to know the ounces, just multiply the .4 or .7 or whatever times 16 oz. and you've got it.

Class over...bye bye

Leeney, you are sweet as pie..
I am hopeless when it comes to math. As a kid I even had remedial math classes during the summers pretty much every year as I have discalcula. Similar to dyslexia, which I have a touch of also.. but it never affected my ability to read, but the did affect my handwriting and the way I wrote/write things.

Good thing I can use calculators, sorta. :P

Andddd this morning I am down 6 oz, yay! I wasn't expecting that as yesterday I did again get off the RD to a little bit..
All was good for the first 2/3 of the day, and I had

Breakfast:
Oatmeal with prunes, and 1/2 banana. Coffee with a little coco
Lunch:
Rice and curry with a little vegetarian soup on top. 1/3 of a can.
1 apple and non dairy creamer dip with cinnamon to dip the slices in.

Now for dinner.. We we a call from my SIL around 5 that she is busy and can't go pick my MIL up, who is waiting at the Dollar Tree store and been there for 3 hours. Which got us in a panic as my MIL is a diabetic and 78, and NOT in the greatest health, she uses a walker, had polio as a child and is partially paralyzed on her right side. She is essentially a bit frail. So got ready quickly and went to pick her up.. which took us awhile with the traffic and they are all the way out in Gresham, we are in SE closer to Downtown Portland. We find the GrannyMa who is tired out and hungry. So we take her out to dinner at a Chinese place she likes that was fairly close by.
I had steamed broccoli with cubed tofu, that was lightly breaded and deep fried. with a side of white rice and the RED sause on the side, for dipping. The tofu was done so well it had minimal oil and was not greasy at all. Light and crispy on the outside and delicate on the inside. I love tofu!

My daughter had Chicken noodles and she ate the egg and noodles and only a little of the chicken in the soup, so I had about 4 ozs of her chicken from the soup. A little bit salty.
I had copious amounts of nice strong tea, with REAL sugar in it. hheheh they didn't have the splenda I like but the stuff in the blue and pink packets. So I just splurged and had the sugar.
The extra sodium might rebound on me tomorrow. But I think I kept to pretty good choices.
A little extra sodium and sugar OH and 1 fortune cookie. I love those things..

My MIL, bless her heart.. kept trying to get me to have some of her large portain of Pork loin, and I have tried to tell her numerous times, that I eat no pork products at all ever, and she just doesn't get it or remember. But I love her, I was blessed with a very nice and loving MIL. HOW MANY Daughter's in laws can claim that!?? :D

And then we went to the big Walmart Store and looked at the Wii.. still haven't made up my mind about that yet.

Ok I need to get some stuff done..

Have a Nice Sunday!

well done! I also give into BF temptations...he sits down for his "2nd dinner" in front of the TV at night.....which, for me, is a hard time of the day.
And....sometimes I can be just fine with that. Sometimes I have "one" of whatever he has.....sometimes I just pig right the heck out!
This week has been a week of no resolve whatsoever......so, you may imagine....I have Pigged out!

Cat, you did the same thing that I do when I am at a chinese restaurant steam veggies and some rice with the sauce to dip the fork in for some tiny amount of flavor. Much better than trying to pick out the veggies from the large amounts of sauce they usually serve it in. that is awesome. you MIL sounds exactly like my parents at there age they don't get the concept of "food boundaries" for in that generation it is about sharing your dishes and that is politeness from their point of view. Great job with that situation. :) Love and Light to you Cat.
