Hi ya'll, its time for me to get myself moving, drinking my water and staying on plan. I braved the scale today and was pleasantly surprised it was lower than expected (I hope it isn't broken :-o). I'm going to add a ticker and post my progress either daily or weekly, so you can kick my big butt back into gear if I lose direction!!!! Wish me luck -- I spent the last holiday in a wheelchair lol, this one I want to be walking and hiking without everyone having to wait on me!!!!

Yay!!

You know... I *love* your sub title up there.. aka, shrink those hips to fit on a plane,. hehe OH I so know that.. The first time I was ever able to look at a chair and NOT worry if I was not going to fit in it, or ((GASP)) worry about breaking it,. I almost cried.

One of the pivotal points for me in getting underway to lose weight was when I was at the Dentist and they switched me to another room, because the dentists chair was larger and the arm swung down for easy access. I can still remember how horrible that felt.. in fact I'm tearing up right now thinking about that incident. Well I'm not to goal yet.,. but I CAN fit now in normal chairs. And that is a victory, such a victory for me.

It's a little slower in the prgress area now.. but I know that if *we just keep working on.*
it will happen. :)

Hugs
Cat

Hi Kat, how exciting a vacation and so that is always a bit more motivation to stick to plan. Where are you going to this time? So we can visualize you there as healthy, strong, slimmer you who will others having to keep up with her. :) Three months is a good window to see some noticeable change in your strenght with your walking program and so I am so excited for you. Keep the momentum going. Hugs to you KarolinaKat.

Hugs to your both and thanks for your encouragement :) My boyfriend decided to surprise me and buy a 30' caravan (camper) so we can see the Scottish highlands. He lives in the eastern part of Scotland, so this trip we are going north west and center. I'm not really the camping type but I'm looking forward to seeing the countryside. Our last two vacations were here in a 4 star resort :-P and in a penthouse (lucky us, I paid early, prices went down, got a cruise complete with butler lol) suite on a cruise, so this will be a bit more low key. I AM going to miss those fancy cruise meals lol. Oh well, as long as he keeps the haggis far from me, it should be fine! Did ok this weekend, but no exercise. Got to get that added in a little at a time!

Cat, my worse experience is at my hair dresser. I've been going there for years then he suddenly changed chairs in the shampoo room. They are TINY. I had to wriggle in and out, embarrassing! Someday that issue will NOT be there anymore lol.

Kat! How fun!!!!!
you'll do great, and the added "accountability" of the ticker, you will find may be motivating!
That sounds like such fun!
I do remember your last trip, and how sick you were....I'm so glad you are mostly on the mend!

I've been thinking about flying too...to do a bit of job hunting. The last time I flew was in 2008, but I can't remember what I weighed then. A bit more than I do now, but not much I think. I could squeeze into my seat and buckle to seatbelt. but it was tight!

Your trip sounds amazing! I would love to go to Scotland. I hope you have a great time. And what a fabulous motivator!

Thanks Sarah, I better not be sick on this trip lol. If I am I'm out the cost of the ticket and have no real vacation. I have been so busy I have not gotten a ticker but will this week.

Mary, those darn airplane seats are fairly small even for normal sized hips so I am gonna work hard to make mine fit with extra room in the belt! (I hope!!)

Kat, this sounds like a wonderful experience for you. Wow! I love visiting new places...it's kind of like a mini-rebirth. Everything is new and unfamiliar. So you just keep to the food plan and do whatever it takes to be accountable you yourself...and us if that helps...and you'll be ready when the time comes.

There is just no way that plane seats are comfortable no matter what size you are!

Leeney, you are probably right about the plane seats! Stress at work has not been helping me but I've lost a little (better than gained!) and picking up all my "healthy foods" for the week tonight. So I'm on my way :)

I love to travel too, and meet new people. I had hoped to be flying in to Dublin or Paris but I think I go in through Amsterdam now, as the layover was shorter. Scotland is not new to me but was the friendliest place I ever traveled to the first time I went. I was in my 20s, meeting a friend in London who was flying in from Cape Town, and his flight was delayed 2 days. Versus stay in London alone I took the train to Edinburgh. The train broke down on the way! All the ladies had been doing Christmas shopping in London, and they opened their goodies to share while we waited, and included me. Then the cab driver lectured me on traveling alone lol and took me to my hotel with his number for any sightseeing I wanted to do. I felt very safe there though, and met up with a couple who had a 12 year old son on the tour I took, so he and I chatted. Think he was glad of an adult closer to his age! Never forgot how nice everyone was. This trip will be different though, since I'll be seeing the highlands and Loch Ness, Loch Lomond, and where my significant other lives. Plus he'll be driving, not me. Nice change -- our last two big vacations were here and I was the designated driver lol.

Mary, been there, done that too many times, with the arm rests digging into my hips and the food tray not sitting flat! Hopefully I'll actually have a little wiggle room this time, but time will tell.

Romantic? Hmmm I think a B&B on the coast would be more romantic than a camper ;) The trip is the first two weeks of September, and I can't WAIT to get out of my office lol!

Don't forget the wine or champagne should add to the ambience. How exciting.

They now make some awesome sparkling cider in all kinds of flavor peach is really good. That can make it kind of special with champagne flutes.
How very exciting.

I actually lost a few pounds last week but not enough to meet my June goal, so I'm going to try to be cheat free this week, see where I end up. July and August I have to bump up the hated exercise *sigh*. Oh well, that's how it goes!

Great news about the weight loss, Kat. Just think what you can do when you have a whole month of not cheating!

The hardest part of exercise for me is just getting started. I know you've had some health problems, so don't set yourself up by trying to do too much at first. Maybe just try to gradually increase whatever you're choosing to do. You can do this!
