I just had a friend die of weight induced heart failure...she was 35. I am heading along her path. see, we both were on the same medications and they caused a rapid increase in weight...I recently stopped my medication after a 70 lb weight loss in a year..I am afraid to sleep sometimes because I am afraid I will not wake up...like she did. I found the ride diet book and cookbook in a resale shop by chance..it was like a message...seems like something I can stick with. I have physical problems with my feet so the exercise I am used to is out of the picture. it is very painful to walk sometimes..if I go without my medication it is agonizing to walk overall and in all of my joints..but I am saying I need to do something...I cannot die that way..I have too much to live for..looking to start the diet perhapse sat..I get paid on fri and can get the goods. I wish that I could afford to go to the place..but that is a lot of money on my budget..so I am at homing it...wish me luck..and any advice would be helpful...

I'm so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your friend, and you are wise to seek to improve your health by changing your lifestyle. I'm convinced that the rd can help many people to improve their health. The focus here is to eat healthy, mostly unprocessed food with no salt added. It may take some time to learn to read labels and find acceptable products, but the results are so worth it.

I don't know the details of your physical condition, but as always, it's advised to check in with your doctor before beginning dietary changes or changes in medication. Please come to the forums frequently and ask your questions and take advantage of the support here. Good luck to you!
