I have always been big, I never really knew why I couldn't say no to any food. It was always about comfort. Thru some recent therapy I recalled being molested when I was 5. It took a toll on my but answered lots of questions about why my father has nothing to do or say to me and I tell people "I bet he can't tell you what color my eyes are". I decided to fight that and found this book and started the diet. I lost so much weight that my family was talking that I was sick. I got diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic. When I went off the diet my weight flew back on. Recently I have decided to live my life, and difficult choices were choosing to eliminate the people who could not support me and have hurt me so much. I pulled this book back out of the closet and re read it in just a day. I really need the support for this community offers. I have this great 8 year old son and I want to teach him to live and be happy. So I went thru all my clothes and anything that didn't fit quite right is in a pile Im not going back, but will list them later in the free section.

Thanks for listening and happy ricing

Hi. Glad you're on board here. I think you could probably do this diet with Type 2 diabetes. I had gestational diabetes with my second child. They put me on a 2000 calorie a day diet with no sugar and I had to certain types of foods at certain times. I lost 7 pounds the first week and never gained a pound after that for the rest of my pregnancy.

Having said all that, I know the important thing was what you ate and when you ate it, to keep your blood sugar level stable. I had to go to an endriconologist and see a nutritionist who put me a diet plan. I could basically eat what I wanted, except no sugar, as long as I followed the portion size in regards to vegetables, fruit, meat, etc.

However, I think you need to consult a doctor, nutritionist, etc. to make sure.

The best of luck to you.

Since starting the diet my sugar numbers have been better than ever. Before I started I went in to the dr and had all my bloodwork done. All of my bloodwork came back ok and I am on my way. Everyone at my front office had turkey subs as a treat--I stayed strong and opened my applesauce (15 g salt) and walked back down the hall to my office but by the time I got back to my desk I was pretty proud to have said no..
