After watching that documentary on Food Matters, I found a place near me where you can order organic produce online and pick it up at a location near you. They tell you what's available for the week and then you submit your order. Well, I just picked up my order from the store next to my gym and I must have not done this correctly. I order apples and pears and a couple of other things but all I got was lots of jona gold apples and pears which I love. But, now since I have so much I need to think of something creative to do with them.
Last Friday I went to the hairdresser and got a whole new shorter look since my face and body are so much thinner. I always felt I needed a lot more hair to compensate for my larger body.
That's all for now.
Happy Ricing!!

Can you tell me whether it was hard to get started? I imagine the first few weeks are the hardest, but then I suppose when you are consistently seeing weight drop off that might make it easier to stick to the program.
Anyway, congratulations again and I'm thrilled it's working so well for you.

Anna,
Hi. Glad to hear from you. If you started the diet right now you could be perhaps 10-15 pounds lighter by Halloween. You can deal with all the food and perhaps make better selections, otherwise, you're going to eat lots.
When I started the diet, I was hungry the first several days. You can eat lots of free veggies which I did not do because it just didn't occur to me. You sort of get into a groove of what you need to eat. Now, I am never hungry and I eat a lot of food. I also eat a little more on the days I exercise.
I don't know how much you need to lose or if you exercise, but the exercise really helps. You should know I was exercising and doing a weight workout before I started this diet.
You really need to listen to your body and what it needs. This is a restrictive regimen but it also can be an opportunity to explore different foods you have not tried and experiment with new recipes.
I would be glad to help you in any way I can. Just write and ask me questions.
There's no time like the present to get started. Good luck.

Thanks so much, I appreciate it. I was thinking the same thing, I could get a head start on the Halloween party and fit into my costume better! And I certainly don't have to eat the tempting goodies at the party, there are plenty of other activities.
I have to lose over half my body weight -- I've dieted (and gained and lost) my entire adult life. I've been as high as 296 pounds about 10 years ago, and as low as 199 maybe 5 years ago. Since then I fluctuated between 240 and 250 but recently I've crept back up to 267 so I'm really worried about creeping back up towards 300 again. I'm only 5'3.5" so I really should weigh under 130. That's a dream -- truthfully I'd be happy if I could just stay under 200.
I went strict vegetarian about 4-1/2 years ago, and I stuck to that pretty well for 3 years but never lost weight. There is plenty of vegan junk food out there and believe me I found it all. Lately I've relaxed a bit and do have chocolate or cheese on occasion, but for the most part I don't consume animal products at all, so I'm hoping the rice diet won't be too big of a change for me. As it happens, I do enjoy rice, sweet potatoes and veggies, but I'm not a big fan of fruit. There are a few fruits I like, so hopefully I can make this work. Thanks and I'll let you know how I go!

Anna,
I think this is a diet that really changes how you eat and view things, therefore, I think you can go all the way with your weight loss. I feel this way about it and since the weight loss is so consistent, it is extremely motivating.
Make sure you take a muti-vitamin and also, you need to incorporate things like beans into your diet as you need to get some protein. It will keep you fuller also.
Keep me posted.

Thanks! I've had a setback in my start date as I was very sick for the past several days -- but I am determined to start it soon. I'll come back and let you all know how it goes.
