I've done it! I've started The Rice Diet on Monday 31st October. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be -- I've not been really hungry at all, and I haven't had any cravings - like it's been no problem to pass up the bikkie box at work or avoid the cookies and chips my husband keeps munching on. I can do this! And the best part? As of this morning, Saturday 5th November (it's not even a week yet) I have lost more than 13 pounds. I am STOKED! I posted a couple of times before I started, and received encouragement from some of you that really made me feel welcome. Thanks, it's much appreciated! I'll check back here now and then to post my results, or you can follow me on my blog if you like. :)

Way to go Anna. When you start losing all that weight it is sooooooo motivating. I have never really thought I could lose all the weight I need to lose but since I have started the RD I know I can do it. And, in a reasonable amount of time.

Keep going and keep everyone posted.

Hi AnnaDownUnder - a fellow aussie here from VIC! Although Im a newie to this site, Im not new to the Rice way - last time I did this diet (quite a while ago) I lost about 25+kgs, I am now weighing my heaviest and suddenly had a reality shock yesterday and thought - hey I know it works, it works around my family - so lets go again! So Im doing a refresher course and writing a shopping list ready to start tomorrow morning :)

Looking forward to chatting and seeing how you're going!

Cheers,

Hi Flower! I'm in Wollongong. I'm actually an American but I married an Aussie and have been living here for 8 years now, so I'm starting to feel like one of you! If you ask my friends and family back home, they think I'm starting to sound like you, but ask any Aussie around here and they'll say no way! LOL

I'm glad to hear you had success on this plan, 25kg is fantastic! Welcome back to the plan, I've only been on it a week myself, but 6kg in a week is pretty good, so I'm going to keep at it. Let's keep in touch and keep each other on track! :)

Hi Anna and Flower, nice to see you here. I'm jealous, I want to marry an Aussie guy lol. I do have a great friend there that is a singer in a Led Zeppelin cover band and he shows me the view out of his window and I just melt. Planning on visiting next year.

You'll love it here! I wish my friends and family would come for a visit - my nephew came once and loved it, but other than that no one has made the trip yet. I have 2 dear friends who say they will try to make it next year, so fingers crossed! :)

Anna, congratulations on starting this program and having such great results. It is so nice to hear the enthusiasm in your posts and it reminds me of the value of this program and to press on even through challenging times. Keep posting it will keep your focus and remember all that you share of your journey and your success strategies is helpful to all your ricing buddies here. It is a tremendous step forward to put your own wellness program first in your everyday life as you will reap benefits and that will trickle out into everyone around you. I wanted to read some encouraging posts today and your thread really is helpful to remind me the value of making good choices with the "dieta". Way to Go Anna.
