I have been on the RD for close to 3 months and I noticed that I no longer feel satisfied! I follow the program to the letter and have recently noticed that I walk away from the table not feeling full. I have also noticed that I am obsessing more about meal times and having that general insecure feeling about the program, like it will leave me. When I first began, I felt full, satisfied and excited about pursuing better health and I have lost 38 pounds since, but now I am worried. I am not depressed or under any stress, anxious, etc Has anybody gone through this? If so, what did you do?

Hi. I too have been on this diet for almost 3 months and have lost 36 pounds. After I have a meal I do feel full however, sometimes I do get hungry afterwards. This is usually due to the fact that I have exercised quite a bit. On the days I exercise, I do eat more calories because I burn so many calories during my workout.
I have found that certain things will ensure how full I feel. Usually, I always have beans of some sort during the day as they fill me up and keep me feeling that way. I have just discovered polenta an many times for lunch I will make have that along with sauteed spinach, onions, and tomatoes. If I have made a tomato sauce or that eggplant tomato sauce in the RD book, I will put that over polenta. And, I will be stuffed.
Are you incorporating some olive oil into your diet. I usually have at least 1 tsp or more per day. I roast vegetables and drizzle them with olive oil.
I think you need to pay attention to what your body is telling you and if it's telling you that you are not full and need to eat more, then you should. Just make sure it is something healthy. I have been losing weight very steadily and my calorie count on the detox day is about 900-950 calories and on the other days it is 1100-1200 calories. I work out 4 times per week and those days have more calories in them.
Hope this helps.

Good advice, Lauretta! Just a couple of other things I thought of. It helps me sometimes to slow my eating down...put my fork down between bites and chew each mouthful at least 20 times. The other thing you might consider is to journal about it. Just start writing about the 'not feeling full' issue and see where it takes you. Maybe you'll find that you're hungry for something besides food.

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the replies. I have discovered that I may have a thyroid issue that is coming into play with this. However, I am definately a "mad chewer" when it comes to food, so I could slow down a bit. Also, I am excited to try polenta. I have pulled recipes from the internet and I am really antsy to try it out tomorrow! Thanks again for your encouragement and support.
