Hi folks,
I need a challenge to keep me going so I'm inviting you to join in with a challenge of your choice. For me, I want to be down 15 pounds by Christmas AND not regain by 1/1. I can do it if the stress at work doesn't kill me first ;). So what do you need to do? Drink more water? Exercise? Whatever it is, join in and just post when you feel like it.

Karolinakat, thanks for this challenge to strengthen our focus on our commitment to our program. I want to get through this time period which will be highly stressful with as much daily application of my good choices with each day of decisions I have to make. This means my water intake and my foods that I do decide to eat at each meal. I may not have cooked the foods or have control of what is on the menu, but I do have the choice of what I put on my plate and how much I eat of it. My goal is to stay centered each day and move forward in a positive manner.

Well, my goal is to either lose or maintain between now and Christmas. One way I can do this is to increase my cardio workouts. So far, I have fallen short of that. Let's just say I haven't begun yet, ok? It's just so hard to take weight off and so easy to put it on. Not fair! So my reasoning is...just don't put it on!

Thanks for the challenge and count me in. I've just recently gotten back to the rice diet and could really use the challenge. I lost 75 pounds by January 29, 2011 and have gained most of it back. I got really off track with numerous explanations and excuses. I don't want to be here again!

I'm just checking in. Doing well with the weight, although my increased cardio hasn't happened a whole lot yet! I did lose a half pound over Thanksgiving...if you can believe that one!

Glad to have you with us, Beth.

Thanks. A half pound is great over thanksgiving. Congratulations! I didn't do as well but expect to do better this week. I would like to start using my stationary bike again this week.

Hi Beth and Leeney,
I'm back. Had a nice Thanksgiving break with WAY too much salt and yummy food. Didn't gain but need to get back on track STAT.

Well, I thought that I could still keep losing like I have been through Thanksgiving and Christmas but now that Thanksgiving is over, I need to rethink this. I gained 2 1/2 pounds!! I made tons of food for Thanksgiving dinner, all without salt except of course the things that naturally have salt like sausage, cheese, etc. Everybody was happy. But it was the desserts that I could not stop eating, even after Thanksgiving. I made a pumpkin ice cream pie with chocolate and almonds on top and a chocolate, pecan, coconut tart. I had a small piece of each at Thanksgiving but after that I would sneak a bite here and a bite there. All those bites add up.

So, yesterday it was a detox day and when I weighed myself this morning I had lost 4 1/2 pounds and am now 2 pounds lower than my lowest weight. I thought the scale was broke so I weighed myself about 4-5 times to make sure. Go figure.

This weekend is my anniversary and my husband and I are going to up to Chattanooga and stay on the Delta Queen which they have made into a hotel. Lots of eating out. We'll see how I do. I will of course keep exercising a lot.

My best to all of you and your holiday food challenges.

I think the extra salt probably was part of your gain, and you've whooshed it all out. WTG, keep it up! AND enjoy your anniversary trip.

I'm doing well thanks. Ive been doing really well with salt and sweets. The last couple of nights I was tired to just had two eggs and toast but was still well within the limits. I feel so much better and am not hurting as much. How're you doing? I find that if I don't let myself get two hungry I do very well.

I am doing pretty good especially since I went away last weekend. I lost 2 pounds last week, gained 1 back over the weekend and am back to where I was and have been for the past couple of days. Hoping to lose another pound or 2 before the week ends on Sunday. I have increased my weights and am doing more cardio. Hope it will help.

The increase in exercise and weights should help. Good luck.

I'm down a couple of pounds and love the way I'm eating. I have lots of energy and am enjoying myself immensely.

WTG Beth, keep it up!

Leeney, that's great!

Lauretta, the exercise should help alot.

Me? well I've not been on the scale as I've had that lovely TOM for over 2 weeks. I know in perimenopause it can be skipped, long, light, heavy, but bleh. It seems to have stopped, so hopefully I can see what damage I've done in the past 2 weeks on Monday :) and job stress shot back up this week so I'm just not having fun. BUT its Friday :) so have a good weekend.

Merry Christmas to you dear Kat. Hope that you have a great holiday. I have been trying to be normal in my eating schedule and eating food rather than sweets. A lot going on. Love and Light.
